Federal Directive Positions Tax-Exempt Organizations Under Scrutiny

The Trump administration’s directive increased scrutiny on tax-exempt organizations, ordering the IRS to prevent nonprofits from financing political violence. Experts warned that shifting priorities expose nonprofits to investigative risks, even without direct wrongdoing.
